On Saturday 19th October 2024 our team of First Holy Communion catechists came together for a day of formation.
We started the day with prayer led by Fr Anthony and then we contemplated a beautiful glass picture of Jesus and discussed words that came into our head.
For the morning session we watched a series of videos on “The Vocation of the Catechist.” Following each video there was a discussion question, and as a group we shared our responses to what we had watched and our own personal experiences.
We then shared a delicious lunch together prepared by Sharon, who also provided tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the morning.
In the afternoon we looked at the Heart Speaks to Heart materials and planned our next sessions, focusing on what went well in the first session and areas we felt could improve.
It was a wonderfully informative day and many thanks for to Fr Anthony for facilitating and Sharon for keeping us well fed and looked after.
