Our annual carol concert was held last Sunday afternoon, 15th December 2024. The OLSD choir was joined by visiting choir, Vocal Point, for a selection of sacred and secular Christmas music and readings. We were delighted to sing for an enthusiastic audience of parishioners, friends and family who joined in with the congregational carols led by the two choirs. The sound of singing filled the church and was very uplifting. Thank you to everyone who came and supported this event and for your generosity with the retiring collection which raised £247 (net of expenses) for the parish Bethlehem Christmas Charity appeal.Â
The concert was followed by delicious mulled wine and mince pies in the Hall.
A big thank you everyone from OLSD who helped to make the concert such a success including Fr Anthony, the OLSD Choir, our choir leaders and organist, our excellent young reader and our wonderful social team who served the mulled wine and made the mince pies. Thank you also to Vocal Point and their conductor, Valerie Hoppé for joining us for the third year running and providing some beautiful music perfect for the Christmas season.
