We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive audio-visual system upgrade at OLSD’s Church Hall. This ambitious project, which commenced in October 2023, marks a significant enhancement in the functionality, usability, and connectivity of our cherished community space. The project was completed on 6 December 2024.

Project Highlights

Our journey began with the formation of a dedicated media team tasked with overseeing this transformative project. After inviting three reputable companies to submit quotations, we are pleased to share that MediaZest was awarded the tender, providing a meticulous and thorough installation at a cost of £23,000.

State-of-the-Art Equipment

The newly installed system boasts an array of advanced features designed to cater for a wide variety of events and activities. Key components include:

• 4K (UHD) Projector and Electric Drop-down Screen: Ideal for high-resolution video projections such as presentations and movie screenings.
• 85” Flat Screen: Offers versatility for different types of events and presentations.
• Sound System: Capable of delivering exceptional audio experiences, including live music performances by small bands.
• Video Switching Equipment: Handles multiple 4K (UHD) inputs for seamless transitions between different sources, including 5 minimum inputs and various external devices such as Chrome Cast, Amazon FireStick, 2 PC inputs, 2 HDMI inputs, and live streaming from the church.
• Audio Processor: Ensures optimal audio quality for speeches and live music, supporting inputs from keyboards, electric drums, guitars, and more.

Enhanced Entertainment Options

In addition to the professional audio-visual equipment, we have integrated a range of entertainment systems to enrich the experience for our community. These include Chrome Cast, Amazon FireStick, Nintendo Wii with games, and PS3 with games, ensuring a diverse array of interactive and engaging activities for all ages.

Professional Services and Support

MediaZest’s experienced technicians handled the procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of the new system, ensuring its seamless integration and functionality. To facilitate ease of use, our staff and volunteers will receive comprehensive training on the setup, operation, and maintenance of the system. Additionally, ongoing technical support is available to address any issues and ensure the continued reliability and performance of the system.

The completion of this project signifies a new era for OLSD’s Church Hall. The enhanced audio-visual capabilities will not only support a wide range of events and activities but also strengthen the real-time audio-visual integration between the church and hall. We look forward to seeing our community enjoy and benefit from these state-of-the-art facilities for many years to come.

To mark this momentous occasion, Fr Pat Sherlock joined Fr Anthony after the 10.30am Mass on Sunday 8th December 2024 to bless the new equipment. Many parishioners were present for this special event, celebrating the successful completion of the project.
