Roof Work Completed

We are pleased to announce that both the exterior painting and the roofing refurbishment works were completed during July.

All the window frames have been stained and soffits painted.  Any rotten timber frame areas were cut out and replaced and the entire window frames in the Side Chapel and Confessional were rebuilt.  Our thanks go to Ashley Rees Decoration for the excellent standard of work.

The roof was refurbished by removing the existing waterproofing where necessary, checking the timber decking below, making good and installing a single layer roofing system.

In addition, the six rooflights on the flat roof at the back of the church were replaced.

The roof is now guaranteed for 12 years, but providing we carry out six monthly maintenance inspections, we are hoping it will give us good service for much longer than that.

Overall, we are very happy with the excellent standard of workmanship and our thanks go to Joe and Richard of JR Roofing for their fine work.  We should also mention Garlands who were the Roofing Consultants, for specifying, monitoring, ensuring quality and signing off the installation.

We continue to fundraise to cover the costs of this roof project and currently stand in a deficit of £48,086.29.  Supporting the Church roof fund is a wonderful way to contribute to the community and ensure the church remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.  Every contribution makes a difference, no matter what the amount.  We thank you for your generosity.  More details on how to donate can be found here.
