After a week of rain and showers we were blessed by a dry evening on Wednesday 29 May 2024 and a first friendly match for the OLSD Cricket Team against EASAMS Cricket Club. We managed to field a full 11 including long-standing players, friends and relatives, young and not-so-young! The match was in twenty20 format and our team with two very young bowlers played really well. On this occasion we lost by eight wickets but it was still a great opportunity to experience the lovely open space at Frimley Lodge Park, enjoy some friendly competition and meet up with old friends and new. A full analysis of play continued over a pint at the Prince of Wales in Farnborough afterwards.
Thank you to the captain, Enrico Ramos and all the team and guests.
Our next match v Prince of Wales is on Wednesday 5 June, 6.00pm at Frimley Lodge Park. New players, umpires, scorers, supporters very welcome. Any gender, age (including accompanied U18s) – please join us – speak to Enrico after the 10.30am Mass (he is a Welcomer) or email him on diversity-culture@olsd.org.uk.
